The international organization calls for proposals to distinguish scientists for their excellence in Antarctic research and international scientific coordination.
The Scientific Committee on Antarctic invites the Antarctic science community to nominate candidates for the SCAR Medal for Excellence in Antarctic Research and the SCAR Medal for International Scientific Coordination.
SCAR will also award young and early career scientists for oral and poster presentations at SCAR Open Science Conferences.
Nominations forms can be downloaded from SCAR’s website (www.scar.org) and will be received until March 15. Nominations have no age or academic restrictions but must be submitted by a member of the Antarctic scientific community providing detailed information on the selection.
SCAR Medals highlight those who exemplify the best of the Antarctic community and serve as models for the next generation of scientists and researchers. They are presented every two years in the biannual SCAR Open Science Conference.
The Selection Committee will be formed by the members of the Executive Committee, representatives of the SCAR Standing Scientific Groups and members of SCAR Capacity Building Education and Training Group.
