Tigre Art Museum opened its doors for the 4th edition of Sur Polar, an exposition composed of works by artists who address different aspects of the Antarctic, many of them made in the very white continent.
Sur Polar IV displays a selection of videos, installations, paintings and photographs by artists from Argentina, USA, Italy, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, England, Australia, Chile, Uruguay, India and New Zealand.
Most of the authors took place in some of the editions of the Art Residencies in Antarctica that the Culture Program of the National Antarctic Direction organizes in the Argentinean stations.
Sur Polar IV is part of the “IV International Conference and Festival of Arts and Antarctic Culture. Science, Community and Polar Dialogues” that is taking place in the city of Buenos Aires since 22 August in different locations and with various proposals.
Some of the artists participating are Andrea Juan, Marcelo Gurruchaga, Marina Curci, Lucila Portabales, Marty St. James, Claudia Vazquez Gomez, Gaston Lacombe Diego Narvaez and many others.
The exhibition will be open until the October 14th in the former Tigre Hotel that in 2006 opened its doors as a museum.
