Living in Antarctica can turn real for Uruguayans willing to face extreme cold and distances. The Uruguayan Antarctic Institute made a call to integrate the team that will operate Artigas station during winter months.
The job openings, which are aimed mainly at members of the Uruguayan armed forces, include doctors, mechanics, cooks, divers, electricians, radio operators and weather forecasters.
The greatest opportunities are for doctors since this search is opened to both military and civilian professionals.
Job openings for mechanics and cooks are exclusive for members of the Uruguayan Army, while divers, radio operators and electricians are open to all the armed forces of that country.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Meteorology will select a meteorologist.
All applicants must be Uruguayan citizens with more than three years of legal citizenship and pass physical and training tests.
